I bought this lamp because the one I had was too dim to light my room, as I don't like overhead lights. Unfortunately it is no brighter than the old one, but it is beautiful enough I bought a new overhead light instead of replacing it with another lamp. I also had a great experience with the customer service folks when the first lamp arrived broken. They didn't give me any hassle and shipped me a new one right away. Gorgeous lamp and I've gotten lots of compliments - just make sure you're not relying on it to be the sole light source in a room.
